Dear Clients and Partners,
Please, let us inform you that the Czech Government has again extended the Antivirus job protection scheme, this time until 30 April 2021. The Government however modified certain conditions which apply to participation in the scheme.
- Criteria under which employers qualify for regime A or A plus of the scheme have been extended. This ensures that the scheme will remain available even if businesses are closed or quarantine is ordered by different legislative instruments than by the governmental anti-crisis measures. This change reacts to the adoption of the Pandemic Act.
- For March and following months, employers will be entitled to receive support only for employees who have been employed by them for at least 3 months.
- The new conditions also reflect that the amount of support permissible under Article 3.1. of the Temporary Framework of the European Commission has been increased. Starting with support granted for February, the increased limit will be EUR 1,800,000. Employers will continue to be obliged to return any excess amount.
- The Government also reserved a right to unilaterally change the conditions of the scheme at any time, provided that such changes are in favour of employers.
The above changes will apply to employers’ existing agreements with the Employment Office only if these agreements are amended accordingly. Otherwise, employers’ participation in Antivirus will terminate on 28 February 2021 (in which case breakdown statements for February may be filed throughout March 2021).
